Installation Prerequisites
For installation prerequisites, please view the Installation section in the help file installed as a part of your Visual WebGui installation.
For installations and activations to be sucessful, it is very important to make sure you have full administrative rights while installing or activating. Many of the problems users report are caused by insufficient rights. This also means that remotely logging into a machine as administrator, will not necessarily grant you full administrative rights, as it depends on the local (or domain) security policy what rights are granted to remote users. If having installation problems, we recommend that you log into the machine locally to make sure you have full rights.
In addition, make sure you have the most recent service packs for any Visual Studio version you will be using. This particularly applies to Visual Studio 2008, as there are some known problems if SP1 is not installed on that product.
Installing Professional version
License activation
Steps to complete a regular (not offline) activation process:
- Log in as the user “Administrator” if using MS Windows Vista, or a user with full administrative privileges, if using a different MS Windows operating system.
- Close all Visual Studio windows.
- Uninstall any previously installed Visual WebGui SDK of the same Net version (Net2.0 or Net3.5 or Net4.0) as the one you wish to install.
- Install Visual WebGui Professional Studio.
- Open MS Visual Studio and on the menu, click on Tools -> Gizmox -> Visual WebGui License.
- A wizard now opens. Click on 'Next' until you reach the license selector screen. Select the “Commercial License” option, paste into the TextBox your license code (not key) and click on 'Next'.
The license will now be activated on this machine via the internet. You will get a confirmation message for success or failure of this process on the same wizard. - Continue until you get the confirmation.
